Education Law

We help families with children suffering from mental and physical disabilities get the assistance they need in an educational environment. We represent both families and school committees in special education law matters, including Section 504, IDEA, Rehabilitation Act, IEP, and due process hearings. At Robinson & Clapham, we have been providing personal attention, zealous advocacy, and practical solutions to parents with special needs children in Rhode Island and the counties of Providence, Kent, Bristol, and Washington.

Not only have do we offer legal counsel to our school clients, we also have been public officials and educators ourselves. Our approach to educational disputes is "preventive law." Our goal is to resolve educational problems in the classroom, not the courtroom. Part of our commitment to preventive law is to be personally available to our clients. We also try to educate our clients about potential legal obstacles they may encounter.

Many of these legal issues may require extensive research, and our lawyers are very skilled not only in legal research, but also in brief writing. Our firm has access to a wealth of resources and we are very efficient in working with these tools of information.

If you are in need of a Rhode Island education law attorney, contact us by phone or email to see if you qualify for a free initial consultation.
