What is an Individualized Education Plan?

Does your child have special educational needs? Does he or she suffer from some type of disability? If so, it's important to understand his or her rights in regards to education.

If your child is part of a special education program, he or she is entitled to an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). While you may have a clear idea of what's included in such a plan, your child's school may not be on the same page.

In short, an Individualized Education Plan should contain a customized plan that meets your child's physical and learning challenges. Along with this, the plan should be flexible enough to meet the ever-changing needs of your child.

An IEP is collaborative, meaning that the parents have every right to work on this with the school to ensure that their child is protected.

At our law firm, we realize that disabled students are not always treated the way they should be. This is a big problem, being that there are federal laws in place to protect against this. We know the ins and outs of an IEP, including what is expected of the school.

If you have yet to consult with an experienced IEP attorney, we are more than happy to learn more about your case and provide you with the assistance you require.

You want your child to receive the best education possible. This often starts with the implementation of an IEP. Don't wait around to learn more about how this plan works, where your child fits in and what the future holds for your child.
